As a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, I enjoy working with individuals of all ages, as well as couples and families.  I have worked extensively with children and families through school-based and community-based counseling programs professionally in Los Angeles and Oakland, California.  I earned my Masters degree in Marital and Family Therapy from Fuller Theological Seminary in Pasadena, California.  In addition, I am certificated as a Family Wellness Instructor, where I can provide parenting skills training classes and workshops to individuals, schools, and groups.  Also, I am trained in using Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy.  EMDR helps to resolve disturbing emotional material secondary to traumatic events, in order to facilitate natural growth and healing processes.

I enjoy working with my clients, who while in counseling with me, find relief from pain, gain new insight, function better, discover more fulfillments in their relationships, increase their self-esteem, and grow in their spiritual lives.  I have helped clients work through childhood or recent traumas, depression and anxiety issues, self-esteem issues, boundary issues, young adult transitions, couples conflict, parent-child relationship issues, assertiveness training, and parenting skills training.  Currently, I am working with adults who are facing difficulties in an important relationship, who want to change certain patterns in their life, and who want to explore and understand their Asian-American identity.  In addition, I am working with children and families, who are experiencing conflicts related to family system changes and with children who are dealing with depression, anxiety, and early childhood attachment issues.  It is my desire to promote healthy family dynamics, through the emotional development of individuals, and the building of strong couple relationships.
