Hi, welcome to A Safe Place to Heal. The name of our counseling center is just what it is. We want to make it safe for you. It takes courage to call a therapist and tell them your personal life and why you need to see a therapist. Most people are embarrassed about their predicament and fear that they will be judged. My job is not to judge or make you feel any guiltier than what you may already be feeling. As a Christian and a Professional, I am dedicated to providing services that will help you reach your goals, not mine, when you come in for therapy. No matter what faith or religion you may come from, I dedicate myself to providing highest level of care for my clients.

To help you with making your decision here are a few things you may want to know about my education and experiences:

Degrees and License

1996 Bachelor of Arts in Bible & Theology and Interpersonal Studies

Jessup University (formerly San Jose Christian College)

1999 Master of Science Marital and Family Therapy

Fuller Theological Seminary

2005 Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist

California Board of Behavioral Science Examiners

Experiences and Workshops provided

Clinical Supervisor at CHAA (formerly Asian Pacific Psychological Services)

Workshop topics:

  • How are women really different from Men?
  • Parenting workshops
  • Domestic Violence
  • Anger management
  • Can I Affair-proof my marriage and avoid the “Greener Grass syndrome?”
  • Making time when there is no time in your marriage
  • How do I get along with my in-laws?
  • Keep my boundaries and keep my marriage healthy
  • Forgiveness and Marriage

I currently run a group called “Creating Lasting Marital Affection and Connection

I’ve had over 13 years of experience counseling individuals, couples and families and I enjoy it tremendously. I am trained in using EMDR, and Life-Span Integration, which are unique ways of processing which can significantly reduce the length of time in therapy. These are very effective methods of treatment for those who suffer from anxiety, depression, trauma, abuse and/or neglect as a child or an adult. You may contact me by emailing mey@safeplacetoheal.com or call 510-628-0740. I hope I get to meet you! Should you decide we’re not a good fit, I wish you success in finding the right person to meet your needs. Blessings to you!
