I founded A Safe Place to Heal in 2005 to serve the diverse counseling needs of the Christian community in the Bay Area.
I have been counseling in the in Oakland area since 1995, when I moved here with my family. I am a Lutheran Pastor, having worked in parish ministry 24 years, and as a Marriage and Family Therapist for the last 14. I earned a Master of Divinity degree in 1984 at Pacific Lutheran Theological Seminary in Berkeley, and graduated from Fuller Theological Seminary in Pasadena in 1994, where I received a Masters degree in Marriage and Family Therapy.
