I am passionate about watching God heal and bring freedom to each one of His children. He often does that in a variety of ways and one of the tools that He uses is simply the listening ear of a friend or even a pastor. However, sometimes we need more help than our friends or pastors know how to give and that is okay. We go to our mechanic when the maintenance on our car requires more than we know how to do. We head for the doctor or the dentist when there is something going on in our body we don’t understand.

The world of the therapist is the internal world, so what better place to turn when there is something going on in your internal world you don’t understand and/or it is affecting your external world?

If you are considering therapy here are a few questions you can ask yourself:

  • Is there something going on with you that you don’t understand?
  • Is there any kind of hurt or fear in your past or present?
  • Is it affecting your relationships or your sense of self?
  • Would you like to take action to do something about that?

As a therapist I am committed to allowing all of my experience, training, and spiritual understanding to be available to those who desire to see a change in their life. I have more than 6 years of pastoral ministry experience in various contexts from the church to high schools to college campuses and have worked with a diverse population of people in many different regions of the United States. I love the patchwork quilt that God has left for us to see and appreciate.

If you are curious about my training, I attended Fuller Theological Seminary, a diverse seminary in Pasadena, CA. There I received my Master of Divinity in 2003 and my Master of Science in Marriage and Family Therapy in 2004.

I have experience working with:

  • adolescents
  • conflicted couples/families
  • graduate students and pastors
  • those who have been wounded by sexual/physical abuse
  • those who have considered or attempted suicide
  • students who cut themselves
  • women wrestling with self esteem

If you feel that now is the right time and that you might like to take advantage of some therapeutic help with your internal world. Please call or email me today to make an appointment. 510.499.7215 sarah@safeplacetoheal.com
